Martin Vitz

Martin Vitz has lived in San Leandro for almost 50 years, over 20 of those spent as City Planner for the City of San Leandro. He and his wife, Polina, have 3 children, all of whom attended San Leandro schools from kindergarten to 12th grade and they now have 2 grandchildren at Bancroft Middle School and San Leandro High. He has been active in community organizations related to education and the arts since retiring from the East Bay Regional Park District. Through those years he has watched the community change in many ways yet remain unchanged as a convenient and desirable place to live. He is committed to keeping San Leandro that way and sees the strength of the school system as crucial to that goal.
